Winter 2010 | The Stud Effect

Matt wears: Stolen Girlfriends Club Thieves Shirt with Studded Collar $280.
Take a look. Take a closer look. Uh huh. Do you see what we see? We’re a little bit obsessed with this paisley print shirt; I mean, it has a studded collar people!

Winter 2010 | Cut It Out
Matt wears: Stolen Girlfriends Club “Slash Hood” in Olive 100% Merino $270 and “Teen Spirit” Velvet Stove Pipes in Purple $330.
This top has three things that we like: a hood, a pocket and the cheeky cut-it-out elbow reveal. How rude! The fabric is amazing too. 100 percent (pure love) Merino. It’s soft and yum and possibly edible and we suggest you come in and touch it.

Winter 2010 | All Punk’d Up
Matt wears: Stolen Girlfriends Club “Teen Spirit” Velvet Stove Pipes in Black $330 and Hooded Western Shirt with Velvet Hood Detail $320 and In Minds Eye Denim Vest in Black $250
Hope you all had a good long weekend! We’re a bit bleary eyed today but straight back into the swing of things. Matt is going to take it away for us with a punk-inspired black on black on black outfit. A perfect ensemble for creeping around the cold city streets this winter.
Hoods, zips and velvet,

Winter 2010 | Mix ‘n’ Match

Matt wears: Orri Henrisson Plaid Pants $220 and Coat $450 with Beat Poet Morning Shirt in Oxblood Red $180.
The thing we like most about this photo (aside from the kinda sleazy background we’ve added) is Matt’s expression. It’s all, “What’s up? Huh? My outfit? Awesome isn’t it. Wanna touch me? You can’t! Pow!” Another lesson learnt readers: late night blogging is a no no.
But in all seriousness, there’s something so wintery and good about this outfit; the rich colour of the Beat Poet shirt reminds us of mulled wine and the plaid is reminiscent of the years I worked as a professional ski coach in Chamonix. I’ll stop, I will… going home now.

Winter 2010 | Suit Yourself

Matt wears: Stolen Girlfriends Club Mega Placket Shirt in White $260 also available in Navy.
Ah it’s Monday and you’re in the office standing by the photocopier pretending to fix it (despite the fact that it’s not broken) whilst you wait patiently for Janet to finish filling her collection of plastic bottles at the water cooler. I know your life. Business as usual right? Well here at Comeback Kid we don’t just stock “crazy stuff” for “hipsters” you see, we also dabble in the more demure side of men’s apparel for when you need to look good outside of Saturday night. Cue our wide variety of shirting. I’ll talk you through it:
The Wedding Shirt
Pictured above is a Stolen Girlfriends Club shirt with a cheeky surprise; hide it if you like but we’re quite fond of the diamante button. We recommend this shirt for a wedding though maybe not your own.

Matt wears: From Britten Fly Front Shirt in Sky Blue $185 and Beat Poet Pencil Tie in Steel $95.
The Job Interview
The above combo is good for the following: meeting the parents, job interviews and trying to get upgraded to business class when flying. It’s subtle without being boring.

Matt wears: From Britten Button Front Shirt in Black with White Circle Outlines $185 and Beat Poet Pencil Tie in Dot Matrix $95.
The Distractor
Ah, are you familiar with the 20th century movement Op Art? No? Well join it’s forces and make peoples eyes jump with this spot on tie and shirt illusion. This look is perfect for distracting people from your shocking Friday morning hangover at work. It will remove the bags from under your eyes and make your cheeks extra rosy. Promise.

Matt wears: Beat Poet Morning Shirt in Concrete Check $180 and Pencil Tie in Wide Stripe $95.
Mr Camouflage
Another matching mash up but this one’s heading towards the realm of camouflage – if of course you’re trying to hide amongst a stack of newspapers. A little bit mod and a lot rad this shirt is perfect for all occasions: just remove the tie and you’re suddenly mister stylish but casual.
