Uncategorized | Michael Jackson’s This Is It: A Masterclass in Sequins

Sequins. Michael Jackson.
I feel like they’re the only subjects we discuss on this blog. But what can you do? Comeback Kid went to see “This Is It” on Saturday night and it was it. It was this good. Or that good? Was it. Yes it was. But as per our post title we’ve renamed the film you see. Not a rehearsal went by where Mr Jackson wasn’t wearing sequins. And how he wore them!
But fear not(!) for you can too. See above image. It’s a cardigan and the front is fully sequined but the sleeves and back are plain. So it’s not too loud. Subtle. A beginners guide to sequins you could say.
Sparkle!

Uncategorized | The Monday Morning F.L.I.P. #15
Good morning. My voice is so croaky today I sound like I’m changing gender. Maybe I should you know? People do look a tad confused when my husky growl (not sexy) comes out from my short body. Shouldn’t I sound like a pixie? Or some other small creature? Probably. What I need is a translator and that’s what today’s F.L.I.P. is about. From American designer Cardon Webb comes the coolest idea since that whole bread slicing phenomenon. He takes bulletin notes and advertisements pasted up by the general public and pimps them. Brilliant!

Ash wears Stolen Girlfriends Club oxidised silver heavy metal bracelet $295. Click image for detail.
The title for today’s post has absolutely nothing to do with the anything, it’s just what I thought of when I saw this photo OK? Relax. Other title options were:
Arr-wrist-ed Development
Guitar Pick Super Sick
Chain Male
The Spectrum of Plectrum
Why aren’t I paid to do this? Seriously. My parents never gave me a middle name but I’m heading to the registry after my shift and inserting “Pun” where it rightly deserves to be.
Anyway, we have two of these bracelets left. They’re made with silver, that’s been oxidised (hence the dark colour) and are so heavy and great and stuff they make us smile.
Yours,
Comeback Kid

Word up! We’ve finally reached third base and the lucky blogger to join us is the ever evolving Ms Fitz. She hails from Sydney Town (you know, the place with the bridge) but currently resides in New York City (you know, the place with the tall buildings) (this is getting old very quickly). She has more skills than a 3rd year graduate from NICA and more fashion knowhow than your average Central Saint Martins student. And with such talent she’s bound to have friends in high places right? Well today she’s sharing a treat from her buddy Thom Kerr and some wonderfully eccentric snaps showing men’s fashion in a playful light. Enjoy! But remember to click on the images for detail.
Sydney stylist Viktoria Ing has collaborated with six of Sydney’s coolest up and coming bands (including Cloud Control, Lions At Your Door, Tennis, The Spirits, Decorated Generals and Richard in your Mind) to produce a wicked zine entitled ‘Press Play’. Whilst styling the groups she asked photographers Jeff Yui and Thom Kerr to photograph each band with their own interpretation and style. Although each photographer is completely different in approach, the images contain wonderful results along with a feature interview on each band. ‘Press Play’ removes the pretentiousness from band photography and makes it fun again. Each band represents a different breed aesthetically and musically, and here, each frame tells a different story.
Below are Thom Kerr’s final photographs which have been released in ‘Press Play’ which is free and available in all of Sydney’s coolest boutiques and music stores (Comeback Kid Note: But not in Melbourne! Boo!)
