The team at Spill Collective had the great forces of the universe working against them on Saturday September 12th 2009. Despite the unseasonable weather (29.9 degrees) and a 5 litre box of goon Comeback Kid was more than happy to share, the night didn’t go according to plan.

Their words: It’s no secret now that we took a real beating after the last party – cops, thieves, angry neighbours and some whopping fines from the council… so Spill is returning to its roots.

Roots ey? According to the current rumors their new and improved party on Saturday October 3rd at 1000 £ Bend will feature (but not be restricted to) the following:

There’s only one rule when it comes to caring for your clothes: hand wash everything.

Oh yes, I heard your collective groan but it’s the tried and true way to ensure your clothes last. Other rules involve drying your clothes flat, drying them in the shade, drying them inside out. Actually, to ensure your clothes last forever the best solution is to not really wear them at all. Discuss.

Today I want to talk to you about Comeback Kid’s amazing home steaming system. Do you get creases in your clothes once they’re washed but can’t iron the garment due to the fabric content? Just like those professional steaming doo dad things you see in clothing stores (kettle on wheels) we’ve invented a quick and easy home version. Let’s get visual:

Fill one of these with warm water and set to the “mist” funtion.

Hang your garment on this and then hang flat against a wall with a hook like below:

Spray your garment with the warm water and then set your hairdryer to the max and dry away those creases!

By having the garment flat and hanging against the wall it forces those untoward crease marks away. The heat fused with the “steam” or moisture creates the same results as a professional machine!
