Local Love | Laneway Festival Melbourne 2012
Laneway is hitting Melbourne this Saturday (oh my gosh you guys the weather so good) and we’re super pumped to be able to see some our favourite bands of the past year play live. The above timetable shows how we’d ideally like our day to roll out. Isn’t it comprehensive? As always, we have a few wise words of festival advice that are tried and tested:
- Do not drink 3 bottles of champagne before you arrive. Pace yo’selves before you wreck yo’selves.
- Acid is scary. Anxiety Annie has warned you. In fact drugs in general are danger zone, unless you’re on Aspro Clear. Take Panadol for headaches too. They happen.
- Sunscreen! Lay it on thick and fast. It’s going to be hot (31°C) and sunny. You’ll thank us on Sunday.
- Big breakfasts all around are a must. You’ll need the dancing energy.
- Ear plugs and cash. You know the ATM queue is going to be cray so don’t bother arriving empty handed. And ear plugs so you can continue to enjoy music later in life.
- Take friends. Or make some. They’ll make your day double as good.
Like always, we’re going to be taking snaps on the day of the glad rags and groovy bands. And 3G connection permitting, we’ll also be tweeting. Say hi if you see us!

We approached this mix with a something-for-everyone notion; good for pre-drinks, perfect background music and a nice long track (just over 5o minutes) for a reasonable drive. Upbeat but calm with plenty of vintage and a healthy dollop of new, you’ll hear a smooth blend of artists including Status Quo, Mamas & The Papas, Lana Del Rey, The Avalanches, Youth Lagoon and then some. Mood Board | CBK Wooden Bead Bracelets Coming Soon
For sometime we’ve been spotting guys sporting these simple, easy to wear beaded bracelets. They add a little ‘something’ to your look without crazy levels of fuss so we decided to get some in at Comeback Kid.
